Describe the best wedding that happened at The Cherry Barn?
It's really hard to choose, as all weddings have been completely different, unique and special in their own way.
We do have some amazing highlights; the chef's friends who did all the catering; the grooms best friends who decided to do an amazing improvised rap; the incredible soul singers; the secret waiters; the radio dj who created the rave shed and each of her dj friends did a set...
We also fell in love with two opposite weddings; a 30 people, full 48-hour, glamping, bbq in the field and taster wedding breakfast! And a 200 people party where there was live music all around!!! They were all great celebrations!! We do have the best parties!!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My main tip is for the wedding day! Make sure you have fun on your wedding. The best weddings are the ones where the couple is having fun. You are the thermometer of the party, be selfish, have fun, it's your day!
Another tip for the day is make sure you savour the day, otherwise it goes too fast. Every hour or so, take a couple of minutes together, take it in, and go back. This will prolong the day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
That's it! A personal touch! Make it your own. It's your wedding. It's about you:-)
We've had the rave shed (Radio DJ was the bride); Kayleighs (Scottish groom), West End performances (bride again), Vietnamese evening food, space hoppers, bumper cars, Glastonbury and so on.
Describe The Cherry Barn in 5 adjectives
Stunning, Nature, Happy, blank canvas (make it your own!), Best Parties Ever!!!!
Where’s the best photo spot at The Cherry Barn?
There are too many spots!! We're in a 400 acre farm! The orchards are beautiful; the bridge is super romantic; the overgrown meadow is striking; the views are incredible. Photographers seem to love our farm shed and stacked apple bins! We would always suggest to come for a lovely walk with your photographer before your wedding day.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at The Cherry Barn?
Yes! From a few different industries (TV and music). We also have a Beatles member living ‘beside’ us.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Really?! One favourite?? That’s impossible!!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Same as above!! Best ones have been sourdough pizzas, toasties and chips, crepes, pimp your mac n cheese, tacos, burritos, vietnamese street food... you can't really go wrong! Make sure it is visible though, that's why food trucks are great!!!!
What is The Cherry Barn most unique feature?
We love our bathrooms! The boys have a stylised keg for a urinal. I also love our blind wall made out of the silver birch trees from our woodland. I mustn't forget the fire pit made with a vintage tractor wheel. But I guess the fact that it's a bright barn (lot's of natural light) and that there's no turnaround needed.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our couples!!!! We have the best couples!!!
