I CANNOT recommend Borthwick enough! As a destination bride who did not see the venue beforehand it was AMAZING- even better than how I pictured it after pouring over pictures leading up to the day. Aine was so responsive and helpful, there was no question I could ask however small that Aine didn’t answer with care and attentiveness. I had multiple people tell me it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding and everyone was amazed by the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The entire staff was so helpful and constantly there for me and my now husband for anything we needed. The bedrooms were all amazing and the day was so magical- Borthwick couldn’t have made it any more perfect. Thank you so much to Aine and the Borthwick team!!

I have nothing but positive feedback for Borthwick Castle. We wanted to have a destination wedding in Scotland (we're based in the US) and lucked out with choosing Borthwick as a venue and with Aine as our wedding planner. It was incredibly easy to work with them over emails/zooms and Aine did a lot of the leg work to coordinate with our vendors since we weren't local. And the execution of the wedding was flawless; there is nothing we can think of that we would have improved over our experience. The castle and it's staff is a five-star experience with high levels of service, professionalism, and outright kindness. Not to mention to raw beauty of the castle. You won't regret choosing this venue for your wedding!

The team at Borthwick were fanstastic and ensured the day ran smoothly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a traditional setting that feels both grand and intimate. Such a special place, we couldn't have wished for a better venue for our wedding day.

I remember seeing Borthwick Castle online when I was looking for wedding venues in the UK. It directly caught my attention, and I kept coming back to it as nothing compared... When we saw Borthwick in real life, we fell in love. It was everything we wished for... history, mystery, elegance, comfort... to say the least. Our destination wedding was nothing short of celebrating everything... not only our wedding, but also our family and friends who crossed oceans and miles to see us get married. They were all grateful to be part of the experience and could not stop talking about it!! (They haven't yet). The Staff at Borthwick are a dream, each and every single one of them. Aine, thank you for all the help, organization, and accommodations, on the day and before. It couldn't have been a more magical wedding. Our whole weekend from start to finish was amazing. We had wanted to get married in a castle that was an actual castle inside as well as outside. The furnishings and standard of interior decoration was authentic to the castle but also extremely luxurious with all the mod cons. The staff, especially Amy and Damien were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and everything ran smoothly. I was very calm on the day - enjoying the experience of getting married - in the knowledge that I didn’t have anything to worry about as it was in very capable hands. And it was - everything ran smoothly and just how we wanted it. The food was phenomenal and they created a dish to suit our needs for the Friday before the wedding. I could not recommend them enough, our wedding really was a once in a lifetime experience. A big thank you to all Borthwick Staff.

Thank you so so much to everyone at Borthwick for everything you did to make our wedding day perfect. The whole weekend from start to finish blew us away and the entire team were so generous and kind to us and our guests. We have had the loveliest of compliments about the wedding from our guests and owe so much of the success of the day to the team at Borthwick. From the very beginning, working with Áine and Amy was so effortless and fun, and made planning our wedding so easy. The day itself ran so smoothly and the entire team was so friendly and welcoming which meant we could just enjoy our wedding day. Chef Craig made us the most delicious wedding breakfast and we have not stopped having compliments about how yummy the food tasted. We will absolutely be returning for one of the dining events but also to catch up with the team who we have loved working with these past few months. Borthwick Castle is simply the ultimate authentic castle wedding experience in Scotland! My other half and I loved the castle immediately and are so glad we booked our wedding here. From start to finish, the staff were just fantastic in helping us organising our dream wedding. Always happy to answer my many many questions and requests during all the planning. Great expertise amongst Amy and the team who were always able to recommend other suppliers or advice for the day. We opted to book out Borthwick for the whole weekend and I'd highly recommend doing this if you are thinking of having your wedding here. It totally made the whole weekend relaxed and really really special for us and our of our closest family and friends who could join us for an informal dinner the night before and settle into the weekend. The day itself was even better than we could have imagined. We're still getting compliments from our guests, who especially loved the unique castle setting with its beautiful grand rooms. But where we got most compliments on was the food - it really was outstanding from start to finish, from the informal dinner to the canapes and of course the wedding breakfast. There are many packages to choose from and a broad selection to suit all tastes. The staff are so welcoming, our amazing wedding coordinator Amy was always on hand to help and you could see their professionalism allowed the day to run so smoothly - I was expecting to be much more stressed out myself on the day but wasn't at all. In terms of the venue itself - it really is an outstanding building and has been renovated so tastefully whilst keeping the history. Yes there are a lot of stairs so do take into consideration if suitable for your guestlist, or have a couple ushers on hand for the up and down during the day as this is unavoidable. But totally worth it to get the chance to spend a weekend in such a beautifully kept historic building. The bedrooms are stunning - they are all a bit different but lots of different features that suited our various family and friends (like the beautiful roll top baths in some!). We can't recommend Borthwick Castle enough - it was the most special weekend and we hope to be back for celebrations in the future!

As a florist to the wedding industry, Borthwick Castle is one of our most favourite venues to setup Weddings & Events. The staff are experienced and always willing to help. The venue including grounds are stunning and always a joy for us to work in such beautiful surroundings. A true Scottish Castle awaits.

As a wedding photographer, I've worked at Borthwick Castle on a number of occasions. It is a unique experience every time. The staff is accommodating and can't be more helpful. The interior is breath-taking and the food is just incredible. Every time I was shooting a wedding, family occasion or just a networking event at this stunning venue, the clients and their guests were in awe. I highly recommend Borthwick Castle to anyone who would like to make their day special, luxurious, unique and memorable.

From the moment we saw Borthwick Castle, we knew that we would love to get married there. The castle is absolutely beautiful with incredible history and has been redesigned with this in mind - although it is like stepping back in time, the decor and finish throughout is of the highest luxurious quality. What we loved, was the exclusivity - just our friends and family there for our special day - we really felt like we were in our own world. We would like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to all the staff at Borthwick for the most wonderful weekend and the best wedding ever! We were so happy with how flexible the chefs were with our personally designed food choices throughout the weekend, creating menus that we loved and that we had great fun trying at the menu tasting! The food was absolutely delicious - the buffet on Friday with Haggis, Neeps & Tatties and the Venison Wellington for the wedding breakfast were superb. Thank you chefs! On the morning of the wedding, Michelle was so kind, keeping the groomsmen party calm and reassuring all was going as planned. Likewise, the staff that kept popping in to check on me and my bridal party at the gatehouse were so attentive! We loved every moment of our day and it was so good to not have to think or worry about anything. Everything went so smoothly and this meant that we could enjoy our day and take in every moment. Lots of our friends and family commented not only on the beauty and impressiveness of the venue, but of the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, thank you. Thank you again for making our wedding day so special and unforgettable!
