Bakes From A Hackney Kitchen Full Description
My personal four favourite cake flavours are; carrot and cream cheese, lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge and chocolate Guinesss but I’m always experimenting with new flavours as to me the most important think about eating a slice of cake is enjoying it (and wanting to go back for more). My main focus is taste and I prefer to use buttercream to decorate, usually finished with edible fresh (or dried) flowers, nuts or herbs for a romantically, rustic look. Please get in touch ([email protected]) with any questions or cake requests, be it for a wedding, birthday, special occasion or just when you’re in need of something sweet.

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Rebecca
Hi, After getting married myself last year, I understand the wedding planning process fully and am happy to talk about anything you fancy on the cake - special requests can be added and the most important thing is to have a cake you (and your guests) will enjoy and want to come back for more of. Any questions at all please get in touch, Many thanks, Rebecca

Yummy cakes!
The cakes at the wedding were amazing. Not only did they look very appealing, matching the decor and style of the wedding, but also tasted delicious.

The most delicious cake I’ve ever eaten!
That incredible three-later wedding cake you made is still brought up in conversation when we think back to the wedding! Raspberry and rose was my favourite layer but the almond and carrot was a very close second. Simply divine!

Beautiful and delicious!
I was eating for two at a wedding last year and had saved plenty of room for the gorgeous looking wedding cake that I’d been eyeing up all afternoon. Becky’s cake exceeded all expectations and indulged my sweet-toothed cravings. I’m not sure I was supposed to sample each layer, but they complimented each other perfectly!

Tastes even better than it looks
I have had the pleasure of tasting several of this talented baker's wedding cakes, I love how she mixes up the flavours of the different layers to such great effect. And of course, they look beautiful.

Delicious!!
I was lucky enough to try more than one cake from Bakes From A Hackney Kitchen at the wedding I went to - they were delicious and beautifully decorated! The gingerbread latte cake was particularly more-ish.

Cake fans - look no further
We were lucky enough to have Becky bake our wedding cakes - a carrot cake (with salted caramel), a chocolate guinness, and a lemon sponge - all of which were absurdly good, and so popular that I sadly wasn't able to live out my dream of cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the weeks following - not a crumb leftover! She was also a joy to deal with, so many suppliers during wedding organisation take their time getting back to you, but Becky was always so prompt responding, suggesting ideas, and accommodating our tastes in the most delicious way possible. She's definitely getting the call again at my next wedding (hoho only joking husband no. 1!)

The worlds most delicious cake
Being a savoury fan, I wasn't even sure I wanted a Wedding Cake - but after trying Rebecca's variety of delicious sponge flavours, I soon changed my mind. We had so many compliments on all three flavours and needless to say they of course looked beautiful. Becky is professional and flexible to help you have the cake you want for the day,

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

My own wedding - six months ago - which was the most amazing day of my life but did take a lot of planning beforehand. We hired a village hall and I made a three-tiered wedding cake, along with 150 favours (little bags of rosemary and lemon shortbread) and a range of cakes for a cake table. It's fair to say cake was a central theme and we certainly had a lot to go around!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Romantic, floral, rustic, delicious, modern

What about your business are you most proud of?

Seeing the bride and groom eating (and enjoying!) the cake I've baked.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

No one will notice the things that go wrong (and nothing will go wrong!). Enjoy the planning :)

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Not to blow my own trumpet but...I baked little bags of shortbread in different flavours for favours at our wedding which went down really well.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

At first we'll exchange emails to make sure we're both the right fit, then we'll arrange a meeting in person. If we both agree to go forward we'll book in a cake tasting to decide upon flavours, toppings and decorations.
