FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

All the weddings I do I have a personal connection to; you can't forget anyone's special day when you've created something that is unique for them. Whether it was my very first bride, the bride that had her dress created from her Grandmother wedding dress, the bride that needed bridesmaids in a particular colour, the bride that was shy and terrified of being the centre of attention or I could just go on. All of my brides are memorable and special for there own reasons.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Personally-friendly, attentive, approachable Design and maker-diverse, perfectionist

What about your business are you most proud of?

I have the built the business up myself so there is much I am proud of, but my happiest moments in business is when my clients try the dress on for the last time before the big day, knowing that you have helped be a part of their day.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Book the most important things first and quickly as soon as you have a date to avoid disappointment and don't be afraid to DIY it a bit, adds personality into your day.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I don't have a favourite, from a personal view though; a bride I created a wedding dress for out of her mothers and previously grandmothers dress had a display of the dress worn previously at the wedding. A nice bit of family history.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Bespoke Bride-The process starts with an email and initial free consultation where I hear about all your dreams for your perfect dress (or in some cases the panic as you don't know where to start). I then create designs for you; these are drawn onto your silhouette to insure they suit you from this initial stage. At a second meeting you finalise a design and fabrics (you don't have to choose one, you may incorporate elements from more than one design) you will receive a quote from myself shortly after this meeting. You will have 3-4 fittings. The first will be in a cotton mock-up of the dress and will allow us to get the perfect fit without damaging fine bridal fabrics, you can also tweak and change any design features at this point to make sure everything is perfect for you. The next two fittings will be in the final fabric and are arranged in advance around your plans and any weight loss plans. Your final fitting is just a practice run really and from there you can take your dress away with your original design.

What do you love most about your job?

Taking someone's ideas and then putting them down on paper. There's nothing better than seeing someone's face as they can see their dream starting to come to shape. This initial process can be just as exciting as the finished article, and it is amazing to see everyone's journey as their dress comes of the paper and gets transformed for them to wear on their wedding day.

What is your favourite style of wedding dress?

I wore a traditional a-line lace gown, but I have no favourite style. Different styles suit different body shapes, if you get the perfect style for your body shape then you can transform every style to look amazing when it's n the right person.

What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?

Traditionally you can incorporate blue through gems in your jewellery, or perhaps through a ribbon on a garter. I like using blue ribbon if you are having your dress bustled or writing your wedding date on the bottom or the inside of your shoes in blue marker pen.
