Only Doing It Once Full Description
Only Doing It Once began as a phrase thrown around in the planning of my best friend's wedding in many contexts such as "oh, go for it, you're only doing it once...". Whether that was booking the additional entertainment, providing arrivals drinks or including canapés, there was always the reason of "I'm only doing it once." The baton was then passed onto me for my upcoming wedding, which was everything I had imagined and more (cheesy, but true). So, when looking for a business name, nothing seemed more fitting. Only Doing It Once means that this is the chance for you to have that special day just as you imagined, whether this is your first wedding or twenty-first... We're a passionate bunch and love weddings, weddings and more weddings! We offer three bespoke packages that you can find out more about on our website. Our packages cover pretty much anything and everything 'weddings' and each package can be tailored to suit your needs. We also provide individual quotes to ensure you only pay for what you have asked for. Perhaps you just need some guidance for where to start off with your own planning, or would like someone to take the reins for you, because after all... you're only doing it once!

'...guide me through the chaos...'
Lauren’s guidance has been second to none. When I first met with Lauren I was definitely in the boat of ‘I don’t know what I don’t know’. She helped guide me through the chaos that is wedding planning and gave me a good push in the right direction. She was patient and kind on the call with me and reassured me that I was doing a good job which was such a welcoming comment. The online form was so easy to fill in and the whole process was simple from start to end. Highly recommend. Thank you Lauren!!! ❤️

'...such a good decision.'
I opted for the 'paper package' that 'Only Doing it Once' provide and can honestly say it was such a good decision. From the outset Lauren was so helpful. I was worrying about where to start with organising suppliers and what I needed to be looking at- but none of this phased Lauren, who spent hours talking to me about what kind of themes etc. I wanted for the big day! Following our zoom meeting, she complied a short list of suppliers for me which has made it really easy for me to organise myself and make an action plan. Since our meeting, my photographer is booked, the bakery has been decided and I'm currently looking at quotes for entertainment. Lauren is so friendly and takes all the stress out of planning your big day. Thank you 'Only doing it Once!' I will definitely be recommending your services.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Of course it would be my own (I would be in trouble if it wasn't!). The day was completely wonderful, and I was able to be on the other side of my wedding planner. Many other weddings are memorable for me including those who had creative ideas, unique entertainment, colour schemes or guest lists and all were such special days.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Friendly, honest, approachable, fair, understanding

What about your business are you most proud of?

The business is a complete passion project and I think it's quite a brave jump to make.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

You can never be too organised! If you have found a supplier or a product that you want for your big day, book it in, why wait!?

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Photos are a really simple yet effective touch. They can be in frames, on windowsills, bar areas etc and can tell such a story of loved ones, childhood memories and much loved pets.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Following an initial enquiry, we ask our couples to complete a Wedding Information Form, to gather an understanding of what you're looking for and where you are in your planning process so far. We then review these answers and will recommend one of our packages and provide a personalised quote. Once everyone is happy to go ahead we then have an initial planning meeting usually at our HQ, but can also be done via video call, and we take it from there based on your wants and needs.

How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?

Planning, Planning, Planning. We spend lots of time getting to know our couples on the months and sometimes years leading up to your big day, so we share your vision. We are then the swan on the day, acting behind the scenes ensuring suppliers, guests, timings etc are all as they should be. And, there are often hiccups, but we are there to ensure they are dealt with, and quite often leaving you none the wiser!

What do you love most about your job?

You can often have too many opinions all with a different emotional tie. Whether it's a close family member, your best friend or long lost Aunt Ethel who has suddenly piped up after not seeing you since a Christmas do 6 years ago.... All these opinions may be valid, but it's often hard to filter through them to ensure you choose what you want for your big day. So, don't lose focus, take time to process these opinions and make your decisions as a couple (even if your other half replies with 'yes dear, you choose what you like, dear..!)

What is your favourite moment at a wedding?

Too many to choose.... The dress reveal, the aisle walk, the food.....! But more often that not, the moments when a couple get those few seconds with each other and their look of love for one-another (*Squirm* I know...!)
