I'm so passionate about my role as a celebrant and that really comes across when I'm chatting to couples, finding out about them and working alongside them to create their own completely bespoke wedding ceremony. My ceremonies have a touch of humour and I'm delighted for couples to involve their friends and family who may wish to read a poem or read some prose, I offer a range of symbolic gestures - feel free to ask me any questions!

Victoria Johnston Celebrant Full Description
I'm a humanist who has been granted the privilege of conducting legal marriages in Scotland - if you want a personalised ceremony which represents you as a couple, tells your story and incorporates, humour, joy and passion then get in touch! I absolutely love my job and getting to know my couples, I offer then support in the run up to their big day and I'm honoured to be a little part of one of the biggest days of their lives. I am very passionate about my role, I have always been a people person and I love working with couples through the process of creating their own ceremonies. In my opinion, it's important for couples to be involved in creating their own individual ceremonies and I encourage my couples to have their voices heard to ensure their ceremony represents them as a couple, reflecting their personalities, thoughts and values. I can curate poems and readings for friends and family of they wish and I can incorporate a range of symbolic gestures, such as 'tying the knot' (or handfasting), drinking from a quaich etc. As a humanist, my ceremonies are non-religious and the focus of the ceremonies I write is very much celebrating the good things in life. My ceremonies include gentle humour to ease the nerves and relax everyone, especially the couple tying the knot.

We cannot thank Victoria enough!
We absolutely loved our ceremony. Equal parts humour and emotion. From the moment we first spoke with Victoria over Zoom we knew she was the right person for us. She's so easy to talk to with such a great sense of humour and put us right at ease. Then when we first met that totally confirmed our decision. Victoria was fantastic with our two daughters. She asked their input and made them feel fully involved. She even got the girls to give their stories to keep as a secret from us until the day which definitely added to the emotion. She definitely has fans for life with those two! On the day we could not have asked for a better ceremony. The amount of information she fitted in telling our story and the way it was put together was just amazing and delivered perfectly. We are incredibly thankful and would 100% recommend Victoria. Thank you so much!

Perfect Choice Of Celebrant
I attended a wedding where Victoria was the most perfect choice of celebrant. It was obvious that she had made a real connection with the bride and groom, had spent time and effort in learning their love story, in order to create the most touching ceremony for the happy couple and their guests to enjoy their special day together. It really was a great reflection of who they are as a couple, with perfect little moments of fun, laughter, tears, love and romance

A Great Celebrant
Victoria was the celebrant at our friends wedding this week and she was great. She kept the service light hearted and added in some humour which was lovely. She included lots of wee stories from the couples relationship and you could tell she had really got to know them both before the ceremony. It was lovely to see Victoria doing weddings now as she was amazing at my nephews naming days too. I definitely recommend having Victoria as your celebrant

I absolutely love arriving at the venue (usually 2 hours before the ceremony) to see the bride with her bridesmaids and the groom with his entourage. The bride is usually cool as a cucumber, chilling and enjoying a Prosecco whilst getting her hair done and thr groom and groomsmen are a bag of nerves. I love the nervous energy of the preparations and I feel so excited and happy for the nearly-weds
