FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

My first destination wedding in Tuscany, Italy. The couple were so lovely and we created a bespoke wedding suite featuring handpainted jasmine flowers and special calligraphy. The wedding suites had vellum wraps with hand-dyed silk ribbon, sealed with wax seals on handmade paper.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

creative, thoughtful, adaptive, heirloom, natural

What about your business are you most proud of?

Taking the time to learn calligraphy and wedding stationery design, the discipline of the pointed pen, every day is an opportunity for creativity. Being able to support couples through the process of their wedding and their special designs to match their themes.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Start early - especially when it comes to stationery or considering calligraphy. Save the date cards need to be sent out at least 7 months in advance and if you are planning on having a complete suite designed these cards will need to be incorporated into the wedding stationery suite. What do you want your wedding stationery to say about you? Choose from rich organic textures and materials that combine beautifully to show everyone you love and hold dear to your heart that you are joining together as a union and you want them to share it with you. Many people hold onto wedding invitations as a keepsake or a memory, once people see your beautiful custom wedding suite it will stay with them as an heirloom and passed down to generations to come, you can also frame your stationery or keep it in a special portfolio.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I think all the little extra details really enhance a wedding day, whether it is a personal note put in the rooms for special people with ideas for the local area and the schedule of the day or a pretty place card that a guest can keep as a souvenir.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

From the first point of contact, I will discuss your ideas, vision and timescales. We will also discuss what particular parts of my services you require. If you have images they are always useful and you can also refer to my portfolio. I am very happy to take elements from different suites to create a new design altogether. Once agreed, I send a provisional quote for my service with estimates on timeframes. Then we start the exciting part - the production of your stationery, I print some elements in-house and I also have a number of printers I work with. If there are any elements that you would like me to write on for you i.e envelopes/place cards, I will request a sample and test for ink bleed and smudging. Once this has been completed I will arrange with you to send the materials to me where I will work within an agreed timeframe to complete the items to send back to you via courier / special delivery. I normally request a 50% deposit once the project has been agreed and this will also secure you a slot in my diary. Once the project is complete I will request the final payment either via PayPal or BACS - you can also order items from my website. What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?

I don't think there is necessarily a most important piece, you could say the Save the Date or invitation because it is the first impression people have of your style, and type of wedding they will be attending especially if it arrives in a beautifully calligraphed envelope with a wax seal. My favourite piece of stationery for a wedding is almost the most simple one - the place name card, it is small and simple but can also be very creative. I think people love to see their name written in a lovely and special way. It is often that souvenir they take away with them from the event.

What is your best seller?

My semi-custom wedding stationery suites, particularly the 'Matilde'.

How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?

Every piece I create is thoughtfully designed and made with love and romance in mind. I take great pride in my work and love to add a little flourish here and there with an extra swirl or perhaps a pretty motif. I want people to look at the pieces I've created and say 'wow, that's really beautiful. We live in a very digital age and it's so nice to see something made to hold in your hands and to treasure.
