What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't worry about what others think, it's your day and you'll have to look back on it for years to come, so make sure it's what you both want it to be and that you're happy with your decisions.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love memory tables and extras like love story boards and activities, they really make the day fun and unique. For one of my Brides we did a memory desk frame flip chart style book, with photos of those who couldn't attend her wedding, and it was so beautiful, she's kept it now at home as a display which is so lovely.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I always start with getting to know my couples a little bit, this really helps when designing. Whether that's through a phone call, consultation or via emails, I'll ask some starting questions and get an idea of what they're looking for, their budget, and how my services will best suit their stationery needs. Once they've agreed their quote, I'll get to work on designing a variety of options for their stationery look. We then tweak until they're happy. Once they've approved their final proofs and payment is made, I then create their finished pieces and post. I like to keep it as simple as possible, I know Brides have a lot to do and a lot of emails on their plate.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
It's all down to preference but for me it's the on the day stationery, you can have so many lovely decorations but if you have something feature in a photo that was a last minute thought, it could really stand out if everything else around it has been chosen specifically and carefully. So it's really important to make sure anything on the day complements your wedding/table decor in colour, style and theme, as it will get captured in photos and be remembered by your guests.
What is your best seller?
There are quite a few items that do really well, but my top three would be passport invitations (great for destination weddings), paddle fans, and christmas cracker favours.
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
I find the more delicate the design the more romantic it is, sometimes less is more, and definitely more of the pastel colours and calligraphy fonts. I find adding texture can add romance, or soft natural florals.
