Vintage VolksWeddings Full Description
Vintage VolksWeddings specialize in classic VWs for wedding car hire. Established in 2013, we have become a well respected business in the Sheffield area with a beautiful, growing collection of cars. All our cars are UK correct, right had drive vehicles. We believe this is safer than left hand drive models. We also own the entire collection, and do not work with any brokers. So you can be confident that we know our cars very, very well and keep them maintained to the highest standards.

It was the perfect touch to our day
Richard did our wedding last Friday with the beautiful VW Harry 💕... It was the perfect touch to our day, being a 60s vehicle I requested 60s music while on route and Richard definitely delivered! It was a perfect way to start the day... My dad and bridesmaids loved it 💕 then after the service the VW took my new husband and I on to our evening reception with a nice glass of prosecco... Absolute bliss! Thank you so much Richard (and Harry 😊)

...so friendly and helpful.
We hired Rich and Harry for our wedding in Sheffield. Rich came to meet us the night before the wedding to put faces to names which we thought was a really nice touch. Harry is an amazing bus, and perfect for us. Rich is so friendly and helpful. He went out of his way for us when we had a little hiccup with our registrar. We got time to have some time away from the wedding for some great photos and I can’t wait to see them all. Thank you so much Rich!! James and Daniel

Happy couple married in August

We cannot recommend them highly enough.
On 1st August we had the pleasure of travelling to and from St Marie's Cathedral, Sheffield, in the lovely 1967 Beetle 'Jenny', driven by Rich. The experience really added something special to our day. Rich was fantastic: he is friendly and professional, and made the effort to contact us in the days before the wedding to confirm the details and put us at ease. We even had a surprise bottle of fizz for the way back home! We cannot recommend them highly enough.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

There are so many memorable weddings it's hard to narrow it down to one. But there was a particular wedding, in which a bride was gleefully bouncing up and down on a bouncy castle in the pouring rain...

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Cute. Authentic. Original. Immaculate. Shiny.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The high quality finish of the vehicles. Both esthetically and mechanically.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't leave things to the last minute. Plan ahead for a stress free wedding planning journey.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A campervan guest book.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

A couple will make contact after seeing the cars at a wedding fayre or finding us online. They might use the contact form on the website, social media messaging, or the good old telephone. There are usually quite a few questions from couples for us to answer, which we're more than happy to answer. We never push couples into a decision. We'd rather they take their time to decide. If they decide to go ahead, we ask for a deposit to save the date. Then one month before their big day, we ask for the balance to be paid. About a week before the wedding, we do a 'reckie' of the route and call the couple up to double check times. Then we see them on their wedding day!

What is the most original entrance you have given to a wedding couple?

One of our customers asked if we could drive into the venue, where her guests would be sat waiting. It was in a large warehouse with a shutter door big enough to drive our blue campervan through. After numerous health and safety checks and talking with our wedding insurance, we did it. The guests loved it, and so did the bride!

What is your dream car and why?

I'm lucky enough to already own my dream car. When I was 14 years old, I fell in love with the VW Beetle. I started saving, and managed to buy one at the age of 19, way back in 1990. My first car, a white 1967 VW Beetle deluxe. I still own that same car today!

What would be your No. 1 tip for arriving in style?

Choose a car that reflects your looks and personality. Are you less about showing off and more about being yourself, with your own unique style? On your drive to your ceremony, do you require strangers to smile, point, and say; "Oh my God! Look at the car that bride is travelling in!"? If the answer to these questions is yes, then a cute little vintage volkswagen is for you.

What is your favourite movie car chase?

Well, this SHOULD be any car chase from the 'Herbie' movies, for obvious reasons (for younger readers, this is a film about a white VW Beetle). But my favorite is actually from the film 'The Bourne identity' from 2002, which involves a red mini.
