A beautifully peaceful place. Perfect for a getaway or a stunning wedding. I was there for a wedding which was perfect

Neither of us are very traditional and so we knew that to celebrate our love we wanted something relaxed, colourful and fun. This was the first and only venue that we looked at because from the moment we clapped eyes on it we just had a great feeling it was to be our special place. When we met Dave who runs the venue together with a great team and saw the venue we fell in love with it. The setting is absolutely stunning. Set in Sussex countryside and farmland it is the perfect backdrop. The spring fed lake is just fabulous. We also loved that there is a woodland area with a campfire. In the week before the wedding there was the standard list of things that were going wrong, including a very ill groom. We got to Frickley Lake a day later than planned, a little frazzled to say the least. However Dave and his team really pulled out the stops to make things work and help out. It was really fabulous. This went above and beyond anything I expected. It just added to the magic of the venue and the weekend. Friday evening's forecast sunshine turned to rainy showers but nobody's mood was dampened. We all had a great time around the bonfire, sheltered by the trees. I was glad that there was a curfew on the revelry so guests could get some rest before the main event. The boutique camping tents were so beautifully dressed, way better than the bouji camping options at any festival we have been to! Saturday morning people were up and out on the lake having fun. The dressing up tent was used well. The ceremony was by the lake. Guests were on hay bales. It was an absolute picture. Family dogs and the Best Dog ring bearer were very welcome too. There was something about the venue that sprinkled some magic because by the time that canapés and fizz was served new friends were chatting like old friends. The marquee was a brilliant blank canvas which we decorated with a lot of colour and fun. It felt very roomy for the 100 people that we had. The stage and dance floor, with its amazing disco ball was perfect for our jazz band. People danced their socks off. It was a real bonus to be able to use the venue on Sunday for people to decompress. The rain chased a lot of people away but it was amazing how many stayed and persisted through the weather. I think because they were just having such a great time and wanted to use the lake for one last time. So to sum up, we wanted to create a Love Fest to celebrate our love and commitment with the people we care about. It was a huge hit. I put this down, in a large part to this brilliant venue, Dave and his team. There is something quite magic here and I am delighted that we managed to nab a weekend here as we did. A little extra detail than perhaps needed but when I was looking at reviews I would think - what would this look like if it was my venue? I hope its useful.

Frickley Lake was the perfect venue for us, it’s beautiful and natural and laid back. On a sunny day it is especially stunning. For a large space it has a real intimate feel with the festoon lighting around the marquee. Of course the gorgeous lake makes a lovely backdrop and is a bonus too for guests staying over night to enjoy a dip and it’s particularly inviting for younger guests! The team at frickley also provide boats and paddle boards too. Planning our wedding was made a lot easier to know how much they provide for you as a part of the wedding package. Toilets , dance floor, tables and chairs etc.. it meant we got to focus on planning the more exciting things like decorations and entertainment. The bell tents were Spacious and tidy, the lake house is very comfortable with stunning views, and some of guests stayed in the lodges on the farm which they said felt like a holiday with the scenery. Now to mention the team, we met Dave, Dan, Paul and Daisy and they were incredibly helpful, kind and enthusiastic! They made sure the venue was looking its best, dealt with any requests and quickly found solutions to any niggles we had. They allowed us plenty of time to set up and to take down again and they made us feel completely at home in their space. We are so grateful! Our whole weekend was perfect from start to finish, our guests all loved the space and the vibes it brought, and we just couldn’t be more pleased with the time we had there. We will be cherishing the memories there for a lifetime and will definitely be going back to stay again! Lots of love and thanks, Vicki and Sam x

The most marvellous of settings, run by the most marvellous of hosts. A venue that has space, yet feels intimate. Light, yet provides space for dark, cosy moments. Delightful touches are everywhere to be found. An amazing place to hold your event, whether it is a wedding, celebration or forward-thinking business conference.

We have only just booked our venue, but are really excited about having it at Frickley Lake. Dave has put us at ease and the venue is going to look beautiful.
