Our two unique venues form one of Cardiff’s most sought-after locations for your very special day. Our first is the stunning former Cardiff Castle stables with its historic courtyard and beautiful tree-lined entrance with the castle in view. The second is our magnificent contemporary glass atrium and open-air terrace overlooking the park – a fabulous back-drop for your photographs and champagne reception - it is also a stunning location for your wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. This leads to an outstanding concert hall and theatre – perfect for a ceremony with a dramatic difference!

Magical.

We had our ideas of what we wanted for our wedding, we wanted things tailored to our personalities and RWCMD certainly helped us do this. We had our truly unique wedding there recently and were blown away by how flexible and welcoming the staff at the venue were. Just brilliant.

The best day!!

We held our wedding at the RWCMD and we had the most amazing day! I can’t thank the venue and staff enough, their attention to detail was impeccable! We had so many compliments on the venue and especially the food! We had 140 guests in the day and more in the evening, it is a perfect, modern venue for large weddings. Even though we got married in December it still felt light and warm inside. Their communication was great all the way through and venue visits were really helpful. I didn’t have any stress on the day because I felt so comfortable with how well they had everything handled. Can’t thank or recommend them enough!

Absolutely amazing

As soon as we got engaged, we knew we wanted a lot of our friends and family to be part of our big day and the biggest part of that would be choosing our venue. As soon as I contacted Royal Welsh we had a meeting booked in straight away. Throughout this whole process royal Welsh have been amazing and definitely kept me from being stressed during the wedding planning. I would not recommend them enough and I would like to say a massive thank you to the whole team for helping our day go as smoothly as possible.

There is not one thing I would have changed

We could not have asked for a better day or for a better venue! From the first appointment to the big day they could not have been more kind and helpful! They took note of every little detail and really felt like they got to know us personally and because of this were able to make sure everything was just as we had imagined! The venue was just gorgeous in so many ways, we had so many compliments throughout the day and afterwards. The food was to die for!! There is not one thing I would have changed, and I would encourage anyone thinking of having this as their wedding venue to go ahead with it 100%, you will not regret it!

A wonderful day

Thank you again for all your help and support; the day was incredible and knowing it was in your safe hands meant we were able to relax and enjoy our special day. So many people commented on the venue and food; our guests really enjoyed. We’re still so pleased with how everything went; it was a wonderful day! We couldn't possibly pick one! All our couples bring their own style and personality to our venue and we are fortunate enough to be able to offer a blank canvas so that you're able to make the venue your own!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Have an idea of numbers before you visit any venue and follow all the venues, photographers, florists etc you are considering on instagram to get a feel for their work (even better if they visit your venue often!) We are @RWCMDweddings

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Our stunning floor to ceiling glass windows with a view of Bute Park are a showstopping backdrop for your wedding breakfast. We are also able to host your day in our Anthony Hopkins Centre which is the historic former stables for Cardiff Castle!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Not only is our venue a great location with beautiful surroundings, being a music college we are able to organise live music from our very own highly trained musicians, from classical to jazz, through our 'hire a musician' scheme! The very best of Cardiff's talented young musicians. I'm also excited that we are now able to have your four legged besties in all outdoor areas of our venue, including our historic Anthony Hopkins Centre Courtyard! Take a stroll around Bute Park to capture some beautiful images of you and your pooch, before retiring to the AHC Courtyard for champagne and paw-secco!
