Once upon a time weddings were done well here but then the woman that made dreams come true, left for another job. Since then, nothing but chaos.
Here's a small insight into our wedding...
12 months or so of nothing but stress and misery. The Dukes Head is a place to stay clear of. We have nothing but regrets and awful memories. The so called events coordinator had zero clue on what she was doing. On the day staff were nowhere to be found. We travelled from London every time we needed to have a meeting or anything. 3 occasions we had booked to taste our wedding menu and 2 of those occasions it was cancelled on the day, including 1 hour after it was supposed to take place. When we finally got to taste our menu, it was diabolically disgusting. One thing we asked for was a 5 bean veggie chilli and we were served a stew without a bean in sight. It's really not rocket science and I'm not chef. The cheese was from a pre grated packet without any flavour and more rubber than a tyre, I've never spat anything out so fast. The fact that a wedding venue can't even do cheese right, really does tell you everything you need to know about what kind of establishment they truly are.
There was a period of time where they were uncontactable for 3 months. Despite numerous phone calls and emails.
Elements of our day were missing. I was so miserable that even on the day, I ended up shouting at the supposed events coordinator because she was literally doing NOTHING. I had to send some one working on the bar to find her and she's just sat in her office at her desk, baring in mind we'd been there 2-3 hours and she'd not shown her face once.
There's so much more to our nightmare story but you get the picture.
Do yourself a favour and stay clear. It's really not worth it.
