Though it looks like a church, this Grade I Listed building simply belongs to the city and was once used for municipal services before becoming a venue. Therefore, inside you'll find a range of beautiful dining rooms and socialising spaces to enjoy once you've tied the knot. The central space is called The Main Hall and can hold up to 270 people while standing. It's a stunning room and would look even more beautiful decked out with candles and floral installations. Adjoined is an airy atrium space and Committee Room One, which could be helpful for preparing to walk down the aisle and store any things you may need. While The Main Hall could be reconfigured for your wedding breakfast, too, if you'd like to dine in a more intimate space or perhaps just enjoy some drinks, The Council Chamber packs a visual punch and can host 54 people when seated. Think polished mahogany wall panelling, an intricate wall coverings and statement lighting alongside historic seating where the former councillors would have sat. The Guildhall York also offers award-winning on-site catering so feel free to give the team a call and chat about your wants and needs for your menu. Although please note that catering is only available for up to 120 people.
